Honestly as far as I have seen the coaching center which arranges best faculties for all subjects in affordable cost is undoubtedly ADRPLEXUS…after my horrible NEET results, I asked my seniors they told me to join ADRPLEXUS DIGITAL STRIDES CRASH COURSE. First I was doubting myself how can they arrange good faculty in this mere amount, while other coaching centres are getting around 1lakh. But simply impressed by the way they arranged best faculties for all subjects, it gave me full-fledged revision in that Crash Course. And ADRPLEXUS PGI mock exam is MUST for PGI exam goers. ND finally I need to give a special mention about ADRPLEXUS NIMHANS CRASH COURSE, I got score of 107 in NIMHANS, which is purely only because of ADRPLEXUS. I never liked Neuro subject right from UG days But how I got Neuro score is due to their crisp coverage of Neuro topics in one week time .Big thanks to Dr. Arun kumar sir who helps the needy, who motivates us ND helps us when really mattered a lot.

Preparation Strategy

What was your study Plan?

This was simple. Daily consistent study, whether it is Sunday or holiday or festival Revision is the key to success

How many hours did u study ?

8 hours per day daily , but never less than 6 hours nor more than 12 hours . I will read for two hours and will take a break often. Whenever possible will recollect the important points of the topic during break time

Your tips for success ?

I don’t have any secret success. If possible I recommend everyone to read Dr Saba Samad Memon interview, during my preparation I often read that interview. She would have posted clearly how to study. Till previous examination I was reading and revising the same points in each topic which I’m pretty thorough , so it’s like my knowledge doesn’t go wide , so it fetched me a medium rank always , never top rank . So this time I started following her interview way of study, where she would have told that first time u should read a topic, then next time when u read the same topic, the points which we are very thorough we should never focus that point again, the point which we find difficult to remember it should be underlined in different colour this time, third time again. By 3-4 revision, almost u will be full thorough in that topic, never focus on the same point which you are thorough, this really found useful”

During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

Almost every day I doubted myself , that too after NEET results it was horrible.

How much time do you think one requires for serious preparation for this examination ?

Around 6 months to one year.

When did you seriously start preparing for this exam?

From last May to November i did good preparation for November exam. That was helpful. Then from February when ADRPLEXUS crash course started

Did you face the problem of volatile memory? If so, how did you deal with it?

Almost everyone will face this problem . Whenever I feel volatile in a topic, I will read only new points in that topic which I skipped most of times. When entire studying goes volatile, I will solve ADRPLEXUS PGI Mock Papers, even subject wise PGI Mocks Too.

What was your daily timetable during the preparation? Were you able to stick to the timetable strictly?

Morning 7 to 9, then break time, 9:30 to 11:30, then will have tea break . Then 12 to 1:30 pm.Lunch 1:30 to 2:30 , then till 4 pm I will have a sleep. Then 4 to 6 pm,will have a break ,then 6:30 to 8:30 . Then dinner . If I feel like studying again I will study or else will wind up and will do some time pass

What is your advice to the future aspirants?

Never allow your rank to decide your career, always it’s you who should decide your career.

Which books did you read for the theory part?

By this time almost every aspirants would have known for subject wise. I will tell what I felt extra edge:
Anatomy histology pictures – must for aiims , extra edge given in USMLE anatomy book where histology is nicely explained, lippincott lipid metabolism and genetics – must if you prepare for pgi.
Ganong – important tables, almost tables and flow chart. I saw question in JIPMER November memory topic flow chart from ganong, direct question on that .
Physiology – metabolic disorders problem and respiratory physiology problems must if u prepare for jipmer . This was nicely explained dr krishna kumar sir physiology
Parasitology pictures and topics – must if u prepare for aiims
Pathology -immunoflorescence pictures must for aiims,
Pharmacology – don’t leave even a single word in pharmacology, will change our rank , easy to get full mark if we are thorough. Have an extra edge in antidepressants and antipsychotics if u prepare for pgi
SPM – statistics is must for aiims. Always have an update over vaccination , and WHO theme
Surgery- nowadays too much questions on surgery general topics and trauma related topics , which is must . Read those suture materials and trauma related topics in surgery sixer book By Dr Rajamahendran. If you write pgi , SRB book first 10 chapters of general topics in surgery is must . I have gone through pgi old full papers , everything in general topics for pgi covered in that
Anaesthesiology– have an indepth idea if you prepare for pgi, anaesthesia is one of the largest department in pgi , I have seen more questions in this may pgi

What was your strategy for the exam day?

Actually I want peaceful sleep, but really I didn’t get good sleep . And never read anything on the day of examination , go with a clear fresh mind and have a good breakfast and mainly take BATH.

What was ur style of answering question. Whether you started from question no 1 and ended with last question or started from middle of the question paper.

Always I will start from question 1 and go forward . It depends on individual. But in pgi, time is the key factor to success, so never leave a question for second seeing, we will never see that again .Nowadays time is the key factor to success in all entrance examinations

Did u underwent the phase of depression. How did u overcome it?

Ya obviously. My neet rank came bad but I felt like I did exam very well , I fully closed my books even . But seeing a bad rank in neet , I was in worst phase of depression . Everyone started telling luck won’t favour every time . I luckily the support of my parents , my sister , my bestie Dr akshaya who helped me in tough times , Dr Arun Kumar sir . This time I told myself that I wanna beat the luck with my hard work and finally made it.

Tips for your Juniors

What was your strategy for MAY 2017?

I didn’t see repeats for aiims and jipmer .i focussed mainly on pgimer , so wrote only pgi mocks . AIIMS I didn have time , I left around 20-30 questions which is very costly .pgi I did whatever I did same in mock , expect I made two questions wrongly marked in other question column , which didn’t affect my rank much , but it should be avoided, got overall 33 , obc rank 6. Jipmer I tried to attempt more than 240 questions , because always topper correct ans will be 150 only , also Jipmer had 1:4 negative only , so u can take risk , which fetched me rank 87 overall

HOW many choices did u attempt ? ROUGH NUMBER. Please detail your strategies

I always kept around 2 options per question. Some questions we will get no option, some we will get 4 option, so it will match off . Around 30-50 options alone which I feel 50% correct also I marked , remaining all options which I marked were almost 80% confident . Total options were around 500-550 . In every adr pgi mock , you find one strategy , finally execute the strategy which u feel safe . Never take wild guess in pgi , very risky

What are the do’s and don’ts in exam

Pgimer keep a time table : first one hour mark around 100 questions , because first one hour we will be most active . Second hour around 80 questions , third hour 70 questions . If we mark around 100 questions in final hour means, almost the exam is over for us , due to adrenaline rush we may mark all questions but will make more mistakes in last hour … Jipmer if you don’t have time means , do retrospective answering by directly seeing answers first ,so you will come to know where they are focussing , and then read a question ,which can save a time , rather than analysing a question so much and finally seeing a simple answer down.
