Preparation Strategy

What was your study Plan?

My plan was to cover subject wise subjecty wise mcq books] since April {almost a subject//week and finish off in September end and have a good orientation towards most of subjects and revise by working out mcqs in October and November. taking the test series seriously and sticking to one plan and following it sincerely is what I think led to success.

How many hours did u study ?

12-14 hours a day.8 hours of sleep. A weekly off for a recreation is a must to be mentally prepared for the next week

Your tips for success ?

This is a long process…during UG days we used to study for the last one month or so…but this needs longer duration which we would not be that much used to.. so preparing for it mentally is so important… never get depressed or vexed even a single minute…be receptive for every pint from your friends…if your friend answers something well open up your mind and gain it instead of thimkimg that you forgot or don’t know abt it….constant revision in different ways using mobile, facebook, sticking papers to wall all helped me..

During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

Basically I was confident but did not expect this high result…

How much time do you think one requires for serious preparation for this examination ?

More than time spent on , it’s the smart preparation it matters much.

When did you seriously start preparing for this exam?

Right from april started seriously..!

Did you face the problem of volatile memory? If so, how did you deal with it?

Definitely…everyone will have it….recollection in different ways …I had several pictures in my mobile taken which I feel volatile… I will be seeing it often to get it in my brain…

What was your daily timetable during the preparation? Were you able to stick to the timetable strictly?

Were you able to stick to the timetable strictly? 10 am to 3 pm…evening 7 pm to 4 am..little difficult to stick but have to do it with short breaks in it…

What is your advice to the future aspirants?

Please please believe in yourself….put your full effort success will definitely reach you…you must read all repeat and repeat related topics… you must read everthing about what everyone knows rather than reading rare ones….

Which books did you read for the theory part?

Subject wise books mcqs and get in the concepts in all subjects… did not read or refer any higher books at all…………………….i don’t know exactly how much repeats going to help in future considering the un reliable national board examination, but understanding the topic will do…

What was your strategy for the exam day?

Sleep well that’s most important…last minute studying wont help much…..feeling very light and being very confident makes difference…..just take that test as u would do A ordinary series

What was ur style of answering question. Whether you started from question no 1 and ended with last question or started from middle of the question paper.

Answered in order is my style ..so you wont miss or do frameshift error.. but if you see in the middle if questions seems to be lengthly we can change order…but at most carefulness needed not to miss a question while shading…….!

Did u underwent the phase of depression. How did u overcome it?

Ya definitely…but never let that affect me… I will see a film…will change my mindset totally and start afresh

Tips for your Juniors

What was your strategy for NOV PGI 2013 ?

I did not prepare specifically for pgi at all…. Prepared subject wise…even at last minute I worked out just two or three papers in manoj chaudary…very true about pgi is, more than knowledge it’s the time management, answering smartly is very much important….ADrPlexus test series will teach it definitely….

HOW many choices did u attempt ? ROUGH NUMBER. Please detail your strategies

I attented only those I knew it very much….took risk in probably 30 options …even in that I felt ok to attend …probably I would have put around 500-600 options….never shaded a option I did not know or did not understand… I managed to finish the paper 20 minutes before 3 hours, that’s the reason I think it got me this rank.

What are the do’s and don’ts in PGI exam

As I said please don’t make too much wild guess…making 120 mistakes is worser than making 100 mistakes as compared to getting 600 correct than 500 or 550….

YOUR recommended books for PG PREPARATION

I did not work out any book except for the adr test series and 3 question papers in chaudary…preparing in common for all exams is always a safe and better strategy than preparing for pgi alone…!
