What was your study Plan?

PGIMER exam preparation is different one.. Concentrate on the TOPICS important for PGI in all subjects.. I looked into those topics in standard textbooks.. Had a copy of all Standard textbooks has ebook.. it helped me a lot for instant access.

How many hours did u study ?

Focused Study for 6hrs to 8 hrs is more important than sitting with books for 12-16hrs.

Your tips for success ?

To say the truth this my 4th attempt in pgi.. nov2012 rank 729,may 2013 rank 573,nov 2013 Rank 292 and now May 2014 Rank 48.. Consistancy and constant effort and additionaly motivation and support from family..

During your preparation, did you ever doubt your ability to succeed in it?

Each and every minute I had that doubt but my friends helped me out from that.

How much time do you think one requires for serious preparation for this examination ?

I’m a average student during college days, I aimed for PGI succeeded after two yrs of preparation.. It depends upon one’s own determination and luck.. But serious preparation of 1yr is needed.

When did you seriously start preparing for this exam?

From last may 2013 PGIMER.

Did you face the problem of volatile memory? If so, how did you deal with it?

I used to’ve my notes.. I used to write all those that I would tend to forget.. Daily early morning I used to revise those notes..

What was your daily timetable during the preparation? Were you able to stick to the timetable strictly?

First of all one should know where all each one is weak in their entrance preparation.. sit and write down in which all topics u r weak.. Then see how many times these topics r asked in PGI exams.. Concentrate on those repeat topics.. PGI is exam where repeat topics would be asked rather than repeat questions as in AIIMS. I concentrated on those topics subjectwise rather than reading the whole subject guides. Try to finish topics 15 days before exams and revise.. That’s it

What is your advice to the future aspirants?

Fight Consistantly until u achieve ur aim

Which books did you read for the theory part?

MEDICINE-Harrison 18th edition Ebook

SURGERY-Sabiston and Schwarts Ebook

OG-Williams n Dutta ebook

PEDIA-Nelson Ebook

All other UG Books

What was your strategy for the exam day?

For PGI exams u should be a day before exams .. I don believe in last minute hurry up studies.. Be cool ,enjoy going with friends and have foods with good stamina .

What was ur style of answering question. Whether you started from question no 1 and ended with 250 or started from middle of the question paper.

This is were all loose ranks.. TIME!!!!! I too lost it last time.. Good guidance from Arun Kumar Sir.. helped me a lot.. answer first 100 questions in first 1hr and next 100 questions in second 1 hr.. next 20 to 30 mins.. finish last 50 questions.. Revise the questions which u left not answering within last 30 mins. For that don leave more than 50 questions in last 30 mins to answer.. Take some good practice tests prior and try to finish it in 2hrs 30 mins.

Did u underwent the phase of depression. How did u overcome it?

Relax during stressful periods, talk to friends who really guide u and support u during bad times.. this would boost ur confidence.. At last believe in the Almighty.. whatever he does to u is for ur good..
